Author Guidelines
Thank you for considering AJSSH for the publication of your research. Authors are encouraged to read these guidelines carefully before preparing and submitting a manuscript. Compliance with these instructions will facilitate the editorial assessment, peer review, and publication process.
Article Submission Template
All manuscripts submitted to AJSSH must be prepared using the official AJSSH Article Submission Template. The template contains detailed formatting instructions, article structure, heading styles, table and figure formats, reference examples, and manuscript preparation requirements.

Manuscripts that are not prepared using the journal template may be returned to the authors for formatting before they are considered for peer review.
Before You Submit
Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that:
- The manuscript falls within the scope of the journal.
- The work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
- The manuscript has been prepared using the official journal template.
- References and in-text citations follow APA 7th Edition.
- The manuscript complies with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.
- A Conflict-of-Interest Statement has been included.
- Funding information has been disclosed where applicable.
- AI tools, if used beyond language editing, have been disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.

AJSSH is a multidisciplinary journal that welcomes submissions from a broad range of academic disciplines, including but not limited to:

Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare manuscripts according to the AJSSH Article Submission Template.
The template provides detailed instructions regarding:
- Article structure
- Page layout
- Fonts and spacing
- Heading styles
- Abstract format
- Keywords
- Tables and figures
- Citation style
- Reference formatting
- Appendices
Authors should follow every instruction contained in the template before submission.
Article Structure
A standard research article should normally include:
- Title
- Author Names
- Author Affiliations
- Corresponding Author Information
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Research Methodology
- Results
- Discussion (or Results and Discussion)
- Conclusion
- References
- Appendices (if applicable)
Word Count
Research articles should normally contain 4,000–7,000 words, excluding references.
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should contain 180–200 words and present:
- the research problem or gap;
- the objective of the study;
- the methodology;
- the principal findings; and
- the practical or theoretical implications.
Authors should provide three to five keywords immediately after the abstract.
Language
Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission. Language editing does not guarantee acceptance.
References
AJSSH follows the APA 7th Edition referencing style.
Authors should ensure that:
- every citation appears in the reference list;
- every reference is cited in the text;
- DOI or permanent URLs are included whenever available;
- references are accurate and complete; and
- recent and high-quality scholarly literature is used whenever possible.
Reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote is strongly recommended.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should:
- be numbered consecutively;
- be cited in the text;
- include descriptive titles or captions;
- be of publication quality; and
- follow the formatting requirements specified in the journal template.
Authors should explain every table and figure within the manuscript rather than presenting visual elements without discussion.
Ethical Requirements
Authors must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- the work is original;
- all authors meet the criteria for authorship;
- appropriate ethical approval has been obtained where required;
- informed consent has been obtained where applicable;
- conflicts of interest have been disclosed; and
- the manuscript contains no fabricated, falsified, or plagiarized material.
Plagiarism Screening
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software before peer review.
Manuscripts that contain unacceptable levels of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected.
AI-Assisted Writing
Authors may use AI-assisted tools for grammar, spelling, and language improvement.
If AI tools have been used for content generation, data interpretation, image creation, or substantial manuscript preparation, their use must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscript.
Suggested Reviewers
Authors are requested to recommend three to five qualified reviewers when submitting their manuscript.
Suggested reviewers should:
- possess expertise relevant to the manuscript;
- belong to different institutions from the authors;
- have no conflicts of interest; and
- provide an institutional email address whenever possible.
The editorial office is not obligated to use the suggested reviewers.
Submission Process
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS).
Authors should upload:
- the manuscript prepared using the journal template;
- any supplementary files, where applicable; and
- additional information requested during the submission process.
Authors should carefully review all uploaded files before completing their submission.
Peer Review
All manuscripts undergo:
- Editorial screening.
- Plagiarism screening.
- Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
- Editorial decision.
- Copyediting and proofreading (for accepted manuscripts).
- Publication.
Publication Charges
Please refer to the Article Processing Charges (APC) page on the journal website for current publication fees, payment procedures, and any available waiver or discount policies.

Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
